Understanding classroom roles in BoodleBox

Goal

Know the roles people can have inside a class.

The classroom roles

• Student — takes the class and completes assignments. On a group assignment, students are placed in a group and share one submission.
• Teacher — runs the class; you can have more than one for co-teaching.
• Assistant: helps run the class. Can see student work and the dashboard, edit an assignment's name and dates in the class, extend due dates, unsubmit, download transcripts, use Insights, and set up and manage groups. Can't edit an assignment's content; only its creator can. Good for TAs. See How to add a co-teacher or TA to a class.
• External Student — a student not on your team who's invited to a specific class.

You assign these when you enroll someone in a class (see How to create a class and an assignment).
